Creamy smoked sausage and pasta made with rotini, garlic, tomato sauce, and Parmesan. A fast, comforting dinner that’s perfect for busy weeknights

- 12 oz smoked sausage (Kielbasa or similar)
- 16 oz rotini pasta
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons minced garlic
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 16 oz tomato sauce
- 3 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Dried parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
- Slice smoked sausage into rounds and brown in a skillet until golden. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, melt butter and sauté garlic until fragrant.
- Add heavy cream, tomato sauce, tomato paste, Parmesan, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
- Let the sauce simmer for 4 to 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Add the cooked pasta and browned sausage back into the sauce. Stir to coat evenly.
- Serve hot, topped with more Parmesan and dried parsley.
Notes
- You can substitute penne or bowtie pasta
- Try Cajun sausage for a spicy version
- Great for leftovers and reheats well
- Add spinach, mushrooms, or peas for extra texture
