Description

This sugar free barbecue sauce is smoky, tangy, and sweet — without any refined sugar. It’s keto-friendly, diabetic-safe, and perfect for everything from ribs to roasted veggies.


Ingredients

  • ½ small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 2 tablespoons avocado oil
  • 1 cup sugar free ketchup
  • ¼ cup yellow mustard
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons sugar free Worcestershire sauce (or tamari)
  • ½ cup brown erythritol or monk fruit sweetener
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Finely chop the onion and mince the garlic.
  2. Heat avocado oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
  3. Add onion and garlic. Sauté until softened, about 2 minutes.
  4. Stir in ketchup, mustard, and apple cider vinegar. Mix well.
  5. Add Worcestershire sauce, sweetener, paprika, cayenne, pepper, and salt.
  6. Simmer on low for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
  7. Taste and adjust seasoning. Cool completely before storing.
  8. Store in a sealed jar in the fridge for up to 10 days.

Notes

  • For spicier sauce, increase cayenne pepper to ½ teaspoon.
  • You can freeze extra portions in ice cube trays and thaw as needed.
